Jennifer Moore
Doubleweave: Beyond the Basics
Material Fee: $10 for workshop notebook
Students: 20
Skill Level: Intermediate
Loom Requirement:
4 or 8-shaft table or floor loom warped according to instructions.
This class is an extension of last year’s popular Doubleweave Diversity. In this round robin workshop, participants will continue to explore what can be done with multiple layers of cloth on a multi-shaft loom. We will weave samples and study the theory behind a variety of structures, including 4-layer weaves, double-width twill cloth, multi-layer color blending, doubleweave checkerboards and windows, and doubleweave twill and block pick-up.
Because this is a round-robin, Jennifer will need to know if you will be bringing a 4 or 8-shaft loom, and whether the loom is a floor loom or table model, so she can send you the appropriate draft, as well as other materials necessary for the class.
