21st Biennial Fiber Show

On Thursday, May 26, 2022, the opening reception for MLH's 21st Biennial Exhibit took place at LowellArts in Lowell, MI. The juried exhibit is of fiber art and functional fiber pieces created by members of MLH. Barbara Bushey served as the juror.

 

Barbara has been working in textiles for around 40 years and has just retired from Hillsdale College, where she served as Department Chair and art professor. She has exhibited widely and has permanent work in the White House, the University of Wyoming, Hillsdale College and in numerous private collections.

 

Awards for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mentions were presented at the opening reception to works of fiber art and to functional fiber pieces. In addition, the HGA Award for Outstanding works of fiber art and the Complex Weavers Award for Excellence were presented at the opening reception. Juror's Notes

An astounding display of craftmanship and artistry. The artist is in full control of her medium and uses it to best display her ideas. Brava!
