Juror's Notes

  • Honorable Mention, Martha Town ‘Habakkuk’s Lament’. Good integration of color and structure. Again, a perfect work for our time. Weaving, like any repetitive creative act, is very much like a prayer.
  • Honorable Mention, Jane Blacquiere ‘Look Closer’. A stunning work, perfectly executed and well presented.
  • Honorable Mention, Boisali Biswas ‘Journey Home’ Home is where it is safe and warm. This work, well-crafted, does an excellent job of conveying that idea.
  • Honorable Mention, Priscilla Lynch ‘High Rise 3 AM’. Clever use of technique. The craftsmanship is strong, supporting the art.
  • Third place, Kathy Zasuwa ‘Escape’. Excellent craftsmanship, a rich surface, beautiful. Everything anyone could want. Perfectly presented.
  • Second place, Rita Swatz ‘Three Days at the Lake’. A simple depiction of small slices of life, perfectly executed and cleanly presented.
  • First place, Nancy McRay ‘Flow Blood Breath’. A very rich surface, lots of fascinating subtleties. A beautiful composition, perfect craftsmanship.
