Juror's Notes

  • Honorable Mention, Jenny Schu ‘Evil Eye Bangle’. This work is exquisitely made and serves as a marker of our times. Working the service desk at a big box store at the height of the pandemic, one certainly required some magic amulet for protection.
  • Honorable Mention, Gail Pilgrim Ross ‘’Rosepath’ Taken’, This was an exquisite piece of weaving, with multiple threadings and color choices that added real interest.
  • Honorable Mention, Marla Smith ‘Spring Surprise Scarf’, again, a perfectly woven object, with an exciting color situation.
  • Third Place, Marcia Leben ‘Wool Rug’ It’s not shiny, nor exciting nor shocking; it is simply a beautiful piece of weaving, perfectly executed.
  • Second Place, Catharine Wilso ‘Tale of Two Purses’. A clever use of complicated weave structures.
  • First Place, Corinne Zann ‘Fractals in Flight’. I’m not quite certain how anyone could keep perfectly even selvedges with this complicated piece, but there they are. Fascinating choices of color and structure.
