Letty Klein

“For almost 40 years I’ve been a shepherd. But I needed a purpose for the wool from my Karakul sheep. After retiring  as a research Microbiologist, I finally had the time to co-write a book titled The Shepherds Rug.

Several years ago I saw a judge evaluate fleeces with his hands in his pocket, I could do better than that, so I learned all about wool and breed standards. As a result I have judged fleece shows all across the country, including Maryland, Black Sheep Gathering (OR), Taos (NM), The Wool Market (CO), Wisconsin, and MFF.”
