The MLH Grant Application Process and Guidelines have been updated for 2024. In Addition, we now have  "Sponsorship" Grants for special Fiber events around the state.  See details below.

MLH GRANT UPDATE FOR 2024

MLH has a long history of providing Learning Grants to their members to fund educational experiences offered by MLH as well as other Fiber related organizations. Many have benefited from this fund over the years. Grants have been used to attend or pay for MLH Workshops, Zoom workshops, HGA workshops, HGA COE expenses, and Artist in Residency expenses.

NEW in 2024, MLH has added Sponsorship Grants for Guilds, businesses or organizations who host a Fiber Event that will promote Weaving and other Fiber arts to the community. As sponsors, MLH will be given Sponsorship status in publicity and MLH will help promote the event to MLH Members.

Grant funding is supported by donations that have been gifted to MLH, often in memory of a fiber artist, and by contributions that are included with MLH Membership payment. A portion of the Funds are held in an interest-bearing account that will provide grants over a long period of time.

MLH Grants are a benefit of MLH Membership and are not need-based. Application may be made at any time using the application on the MLH Website. Keep in mind that grants must be approved at a quarterly MLH Board meeting, so consider applying well before funding is needed.

Learning Grants are awarded up to $300. Sponsorship Grants are available up to $1000.

All Grant Recipients are expected to share their experience or event with MLH by providing an article and pictures for the MLH Newsletter, Website, and social media.
